After the workshops in Tuzla and Paris, the second round of workshop arrives in Bologna. Now the design and the writing phases of the projects are over, the Artists@Work artists are putting themselves in the production of their works, staying in touch with their mentors, Bruno Oliviero for the cinema and documentary, and Pietro Scarnera for comics and illustrations, as well as with the group of participants.

The second workshop offers two events open to the public, meant to open a reflexion about the national and international comics and cinema’s system, about the opportunities of visibility we have to seize, and the different directions we have to follow for the production and distribution of the works.
Fabrizio Grosoli, a journalist, cinema critic, producer, and film distributor, is the main protagonist of the meeting devoted to cinema and documentary. Since 2005, he’s mentoring the documentary contest for the Trieste Film Festival, of which he then became co-director during the 24th edition of 2013.
From 1999 to 2001, he was a member of the Selection Committee of the « Mostra del Cinema » of Venice, co-responsible of the section « New territories » of the Mostra del Cinema » of Venice 2003, selector in the section « DocItalia » of the Torino Film Festival from 2000 to 2002. Responsible of the Fandango production company’s non-fiction section from 2003 to 2011, artistic director of the Bellaria Film Festival from 2006 to 2010 and member of the selection committee of the International Festival of Roman Movies from 2006 to 2010, he created in 2010 to the first online Documentary Cinema Festival, ViaEmiliaDocFest.
For illustration and comicswill intervene Elettra Stamboulis, curator of contemporary art and comics exhibitions, scenarist for comics and professor. She led the exhibitions of numerous Italian and foreign comics’ authors, in Italy and abroad. Particularly, she led the only art exhibition of the originals of Marjane Satrapi in 2005 « Marjane Satrapi or the irony of Iran » and the itinerary exhibition of Joe Sacco, « Clouds from other frontiers ». She directed and designed the international festival of realistic comics Komikazen, a benchmark for Graphic Journalism.
She also collaborated with a few magazines such as Blue and Linus, and she was one of the writers of InguineMAH!gazine, an Italian underground magazine that published comics from all over the world and Italy. She also led, with Gianluca Costantini and Marco Lobietti, the editorial project G.I.U.D.A Geographical Institute of Unconventional Drawing Art.

Il secondo workshop, per dare forma alle idee
Dopo i workshop di Tuzla e Parigi, arriva anche a Bologna l’appuntamento con il secondo ciclo laboratoriale. Conclusa la fase di ideazione e scrittura dei concept, gli artisti di Artists@Work si dedicano ora alla produzione delle loro opere, in un confronto costante con i loro mentori, Bruno Oliviero per cinema e documentario e Pietro Scarnera per fumetto e illustrazione, e con il gruppo di partecipanti.

Anche il secondo workshop propone due appuntamenti aperti al pubblico, dedicati ad aprire una riflessione sul sistema del cinema e del fumetto nazionale e internazionale, sulle occasioni di visibilità da cogliere oggi e sulle diverse direzioni da seguire per la produzione e distribuzione delle opere.
Protagonista dell’incontro dedicato al cinema e documentario è Fabrizio Grosoli, giornalista, critico cinematografico, produttore, distributore. Dal 2005 cura il concorso documentari per il Trieste Film Festival, di cui è divento poi co-direttore a partire dalla 24esima edizione del 2013. Dal 1999 al 2001 è stato membro del Comitato di Selezione della Mostra del Cinema di Venezia, co-responsabile della sezione Nuovi Territori alla Mostra del Cinema di Venezia 2003, e selezionatore alla sezione DocItalia del Torino Film Festival dal 2000 al 2002. Responsabile presso la società di produzione Fandango dell’area non-fiction dal 2013 al 2011, direttore artistico del Bellaria Film Festival dal 2006 al 2009 e membro del comitato di selezione del Festival Internazionale del Film di Roma dal 2006 al 2010, ha dato vita nel 2010 al primo Festival del Cinema documentario on-line ViaEmiliaDocFest.
Per illustrazione e fumetto, interviene Elettra Stamboulis, curatrice di mostre d'arte contemporanea e fumetto, sceneggiatrice per il fumetto e docente. Ha curato le mostre di numerosi autori di fumetto italiani e stranieri, in Italia e all'estero. In particolare, ha curato l'unica mostra degli originali di Marjane Satrapi nel 2005 "Marjane Satrapi ovvero dell'ironia dell'Iran" e la mostra itinerante di Joe Sacco, “Nuvole da oltre frontiera”.
