Artists@Work is a project which calls upon artists who seek to discuss social issues through their art, using creativity for justice and fairness in Europe.
Following a call involving three countries, 286 candidatures have been received. Among these, 118 artists have been selected and will access a free formation course aiming at the production of orignal and unpublished artworks through artistic laboratories, workshop and online support activities, always under the direction of 6 professionals.
A@W involves three countries and artistic languages: Audiovisual and Comics in Italy, Photography and Audiovisual in France, and Comics and Photography in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project, co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union, is promoted by Fondazione Unipolis, Ateliers Varan, Cinemovel Foundation, Libera Associazioni, nomi, numeri contro le mafie and Udruzenje Tuzlanska Amica.
Once the selection phase was over, the formation phase begun. Monday the 15th of January, the first Artists@Work workshop has started in Paris. More than a simple workshop, it is a true artistic laboratory that has started, in which new works of art will be created that will try to express the social changes that are crossing Europe.
The programme is split into two workshops: one centered on photography and another one on cinema. The photography workshop will focus on exercises of spotting and shooting, while the cinema workshop will be focused on shooting and editing.

Artists@Work est un projet destiné aux artistes souhaitant discuter, à travers leur art, des problèmes sociaux, mettant leur créativité au service de la justice et de l’équité en Europe.
Après un appel à candidatures dans trois pays, 286 candidatures ont été reçues. A@W implique trois pays et donc trois langages artistiques différents : l’audiovisuel et la bande dessinée en Italie, la photographie et l’audiovisuel en France, et la bande-dessinée et la photographie en Bosnie Herzégovine. La phase de sélection des artistes achevée, c’est à la phase de formation et d’accompagnement des projets créatifs de commencer.
Lundi 15 Janvier, le premier atelier Artists@Work a débuté à Paris. Plus qu’un simple atelier, c’est un véritable laboratoire artistique qui a commencé, dans lequel seront réalisées des oeuvres inédites qui tenteront de raconter les changements sociaux qui traversent l’Europe.
Le programme est divisé en deux ateliers distincts : l’un portant sur la photographie, et l’autre sur le cinéma. L’atelier photographie sera essentiellement partagé entre les repérages et la prise de vue tandis que l’atelier cinéma se concentrera sur les premiers tournages et des exercices de montage.
