Why do you participate in Artists@Work? What do you expect from this experience?

I participate in this project because I always wanted to learn more about comics. As a graphic designer, I never had a chance to focus more on comics, learn more about them, and learn how to tell a story through it. Also, topic of the workshop was very interesting to me, because I consider it as big problem in our country.

I expect to learn more about comics, as I said, but also to meet new creative people, share my ideas with them and have a feedback. But, first of all, I hope these works will draw attention and maybe change someone's mindset.

Explain the main thematics of your project

I am working on a group project with my friend Armin Numanović. Our idea is to focus on corruption in hospitals in BiH, beacuse we consider it as a place where everyone has experienced corruption in the worst form. Hospitals are perhaps the most important institution of a state, and corruption in them is so common that we all got used to it and started to consider it normal. For this reason, I think it's important to draw attention to her appearance.

Explain the different stages of production of your work

First of all, we plan to talk with people, collect as much informations as possible (personal experiences).

Then, make a rough textual story about it. We will pick one certain story, but which is known to everyone, something that everybody have experienced or heard something similar.

After that, we will do sketches and storyboard. Decide which style and technique to choose.

Explain the choice of the title

The title is actually a combination of two keywords, healing and corruption.
