Participating to this workshop is an opportunity to built connections with people who want to be involved in documentary projects. I follow the Atelier Varan for many years and it's a real honour to be part of this adventure, filming with two others person that you don't know, knowing each other while we are writing our film, and in the same time following the projects of the other teams during those 7 months. What can be more exciting than this?
Our film is about a young Ecuadorean arrived in France few years ago to study Politics Sciences. Being the granchild of a Quechua community chief, his responsability is to come back in his country to represent and help the Quechuas to fight for their rights to the ecuadorean government. As well as his studies he helps other refugee and undocumented students to be integrated in France, he organises every summer an art festival in Paris about Quechua culture, where he invites friends and relatives from his community to perform music and dance rituals.
Like Rindala, our editor, wrote: Writing, filming, writing, filming, writing, filming..., editing (as a synonyme of writing). Bang! Let the magic appear, we have a film.
