I found this call and I thought ‘that’s right occasion to exit my fears and try to do what I dream to do: illustrated stories. I participate because I’ve never studied art or illustration but I really feel myself in it. As a scientist I think that Arts are the best systems to share knowledge to layman. So the possibility to participate to a workshop in between other guys motivated, discovering our abilities, developing interesting stories, sharing our knowledge and points of view stimulate my a lot. I’m working on a project -belonging to my thesis- which is the tomato’ story. I’m very happy and proud to be here with you!
May you know that Tomato was born in Peru, grown up in Mexico and was brought in Europe as a Lords' present by the American's 'discoverers'. But you may don't know that in the firsts 200- 300 years tomato was seen as a dangerous fruit, maybe toxic, nobody was so foolish to taste that alien red ball. That immigrated Tomato was maltreated, of course just because they didn't know him. He worked as a decorative plant growing in garden, obliged to show his red round fruit, of course he worked as a plant for love courting. Finally in the XIX century they started to peck at his purple pulp: his juicy secret was marvelous! Here started the story of the tomato’s fame.
Write down the story, project the storyboard, create the comics connected to the text,
As the first milestone is the first mile covered to gain the destination, my first tomato is the first part of my way for reach my aim, or better: my sauce.
