I'm interested in social thematics and filmmaking, so i decided to apply to the Artist@Work's call with a personal project. I expect to improve my skills as a filmmaker not only for the technical issues, but mainly for my abilities to work with reality and how I can look at it. I appreciate the opportunity to be followed by professional trainer and also to be in dialogue with the others fellows that are taking part in Artitst@Work.
During the first week of workshop I evaluate my original project too difficult to develop especially because of production issues (for my fault!). Therefore I maintain my focus on the immigration issue - paying attention not only to migrants, but above all to italian people that want to receive them - but I change my project.
Actually i'm working in order to develop a project about a public program whose aim is to create the figure of voluntary guardian for unaccompained foreign minors.
The figure of the voluntary guardian (introduced in Italy only a year ago) is an individual who offer himself to take legal responsibility for an unaccompanied foreign minor after they have received a special training managed by the regional child protection authority. In my project i would like to illustrate the training process and the expectations of whom would take part into it.
I'm still at the the first stage of my work: i'm in contact with the regional child protection authority (Garante per l'infanzia e per l'adolescenza della Regione Lombardia, who is the main partner in the public program for the training of the voluntary guardian) and i'm waiting for the beginning of a new training process.
I haven't chosen yet a title for my project (the one that is here is very temporary!).
